BUILT DIFFERENT.

Why you'll trust us

the embedded difference

Any good consultant or firm can deliver on the challenges you bring them. Few ever get someone who actually steps inside the business and builds alongside the leadership and team.

That is the standard at The Arch's Anvil. Every engagement is led from inside the firm, not from a deck delivered at arm's length. The infrastructure is built, tested and taught in real time, by people who have done this work at scale and know exactly what it takes to make it last.

The advisors who come to us already have the vision.
What they need is the business built to match it.  Faster & more sustainably.

Who we serve

Built for the firm you are. Designed for the firm you are building.

The firms that come to The Arch's Anvil are successful, sophisticated and often growing. They have reached the point where the infrastructure is the constraint. Processes live in people's heads instead of documented systems. Technology was added to solve problems but compounded the complexity instead. The team is capable and underutilized. The founder is still the answer to questions the firm should have outgrown by now.

Every firm arrives with a different set of details, but the underlying condition is consistent: the firm has grown beyond what its current infrastructure was built to support, and the distance between where it operates today and what it is actually capable of is measurable, addressable and worth closing.

Claire J. Alexander
Founder & CEO

Claire has spent over a decade inside high-growth independent advisory firms, building the operational infrastructure that lets a firm scale without losing what makes it valuable. She has personally supported a combined $10.1 billion in assets under management across multiple firms, including one firm's growth from $100 million to $3.4 billion in 42 months.

Her work meets firms wherever they are. Some are ready to build the systems and structure for their next stage of growth and beyond. Others are reorganizing to create new revenue streams, build out their team and give advisors meaningful time back. Some are preparing for an eventual exit or succession and need the firm positioned to reflect its full value. The goal is always the same: build the firm the leaders imagined, only built to last.

She is a Wealth Management 2026 Industry Awards nominee for Professional Services CEO of the Year, published thought leader, and creator of The Billion Dollar Firm Masterclass series.

Claire lives in Seattle with her family, where she spends as much time as possible with her children, outdoors, on the lake and traveling.

She built that balance the same way she builds everything else.
On purpose.

What People Are Saying:

I have yet to meet someone with more comprehensive knowledge of the industry, its systems, and how data must be translated to make things function."

— CEO, $1.2B+ AUM Advisory Firm

"Mimicking your actions is not the same as owning the result. Teach them to think and why you do things, not just how. I suspect you'd be dynamite in a live setting."
— CFP Principal, $1.1B AUM Independent RIA

"I want someone who has been there before. Someone who can cut through and say this works and this doesn't. That's what intrigued me."

She holds a Series 65 license and a degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from MidAmerica Nazarene University, a foundation that shaped her human-centered approach to leadership long before she entered financial services.

Tamara is married and the mother of four. Outside of work she loves live music, community events and any chance to connect with people and their stories.

The same instinct that once built training programs for athletes now builds the operational backbone for the firms she leads.

THe Process

Every engagement follows the same three-phase architecture.

The scope and timeline are tailored to where your firm is and how far it is ready to go.

1.    The Architectural Audit

Audit of the Current State

2.    The forge

The Build

3.    The expansion engine

Monitor & Adjust

The Architectural Audit baselines the firm and produces the Execution Roadmap. The Forge builds the infrastructure. The Expansion Engine maintains and evolves it with every stage of growth that follows.

The Acquisition Architecture

FOR AGGREGATORS AND ACQUISITION-FOCUSED FIRMS

There is a version of growth that goes beyond building a better firm. It is building the platform that other firms join, and that level of scale requires an entirely different architectural blueprint.

For firms in active acquisition mode, The Acquisition Architecture runs as an additional track structured around what the integration activity requires.  Read more details below.

case studies

Every firm is different, and so is every build. These three show the range of outcomes infrastructure done right can produce.

Case Study 1:  100 Hours Back in 30 Days

Problem: A $550M AUM team was moving through peak tax season with annual reviews and strategy meetings stacked on top of it. The CSA was working until 11pm most nights. Advisors were walking into client meetings cold, catching up in real time, generating a follow-up after every single conversation. The team did not want to hire their way out of it. They wanted to get lean first.

Build: The technology stack was not the problem. It had simply never been configured to work together. One subscription was dropped, one was added, and the tools already in place were finally connected the way they should have been from the start. Processes, automations and workflows were rebuilt around them, service tiers were renamed and elevated, and the onboarding and review process was rolled out fresh.

Result: One advisor reclaimed 100 hours in the first 30 days. Meetings stopped running over and started going deeper, one of them generating a $1M client referral who onboarded directly into the new process. The team now runs 90% automated on meeting prep and follow-up. Clients get the advisor who shows up to actually listen, not the one still gathering updates in real time.

Case Study 2: One Infrastructure Decision Lead to Exponential Growth

Problem: An independent advisory firm was losing revenue through an unfavorable broker-dealer commission structure, limited product access and a fragmented case management process that served no one well.

Build: A fully independent insurance agency was architected from the ground up — broader product selection for clients, higher payouts for advisors and a single dedicated case manager across every engagement.

Result: 522% revenue growth in year one. Zero increase in founder workload. The agency still operates today under the same ownership.

Case Study 3: When the Firm Architecture Isn't a Metaphor

Problem: A growing advisory firm needed a headquarters that reflected its institutional ambitions and a satellite office that delivered a consistent brand experience without overrunning budget.

Build: General contracted the headquarters build from start to finish — contractor selection, competitive bids, finish selections, timeline and budget management. Applied the same discipline to the satellite office working alongside the design team.

Result: A $1.5M building delivered end to end. A second flagship build-out delivered on time with only 8% overage, including $241,302 in incorrectly charged costs identified and recovered.

And the examples don't stop here.

Inside the process

This is not a framework delivered from a distance. The work happens inside the firm, alongside the leadership team, from the first interview through the final integration.

The Architectural Audit

Before anything is built, everything is mapped. That clarity is what separates the firms that scale intentionally from the ones that grow into instability.

Every stakeholder is aligned, every system is evaluated and every operational gap is surfaced before a single decision is made about what gets built. The audit does not just identify what is broken. It reveals the full picture of what the firm is actually capable of becoming.

The deliverable is a comprehensive Operational Output Report and custom Execution Roadmap.  This is the architectural blueprint that every subsequent phase is built on and every decision is measured against.

The Forge

This is where the audit becomes action and the Execution Roadmap becomes the operating reality of the firm.

Workflows get systematized, technology optimized and the processes solidified so the firm accelerates forward without founder intervention. Once the infrastructure exists to absorb it, capacity naturally and strategically moves off the leadership team and founder to the operations layer.  What emerges on the other side is no longer a firm built around the people inside it, but a scalable, transferable asset built to perform beyond them.

The deliverable is a fully operational infrastructure layer, documented, delegated and running at the level the firm was always capable of reaching.

The Expansion Engine

The infrastructure is live and the firm is running on it — this phase ensures it performs at the level it was built for and evolves with every stage of growth that follows.

The operating rhythm, accountability cadence and financial controls are established, maintained and stress tested against the firm's next horizon. This is the ongoing partnership that keeps the firm accountable to the vision that started everything.

The deliverable is a firm that grows without adding complexity and a partnership that moves with it every step of the way.

ways we work together

Three engagement models.
One architectural standard.
The difference is how closely we work together.

GUIDED IMPLEMENTATION

You have the architecture.
Your team builds it.

  • Full access to the complete operational library
  • Weekly group executive coaching CEO/Advisor
  • Exclusive access to The Executive Roundtable
  • Weekly group operations call for the operations team
  • Access to The Ops Collective
  • Six-month structured & guided live rollout framework
  • Architectural oversight & expert insight throughout the build

Outcome: A firm that stops running on institutional knowledge stored in people's heads and starts running on documented systems the team owns — built by the people who will use them, guided by the architect who designed them.

EXECUTIVE IMPLEMENTATION

The architect is inside the firm.
The build is bespoke.

  • Embedded as a working member of the operational leadership structure
  • Weekly strategy with the CEO and leadership team
  • Weekly operations team meetings for live collaborative build and project management
  • Custom solution design across every operational layer reflecting the firm's complexity, culture and growth trajectory
  • Bespoke expansion projects selected for the firm's specific growth priorities — insurance agency builds, partnership expansion models, internal advisor coaching programs and beyond
  • Access to the full operational library throughout the build
  • Six-month minimum engagement

Outcome: A founder whose calendar is no longer the bottleneck, and a leadership team that thinks, decides and executes the plan. The firm stops depending on who is in the room and starts running on what was built into it.

PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE

We lead the build. The infrastructure becomes your competitive advantage.

  • Embedded as a working member of the operational leadership structure
  • Weekly strategy with the CEO and leadership team
  • Complete arc from signed LOI through full year-one integration covering pre, during and post-transition phases
  • Bespoke integration infrastructure built and taught across every entity
  • Every acquisition elevated to platform standard without losing what made it valuable
  • Expansion projects selected for the platform's specific growth priorities: revenue diversification builds, affiliate and partnership frameworks, internal advisor development programs and beyond
  • Six-month minimum engagement

Outcome: A platform where every acquisition makes the infrastructure stronger instead of heavier, and a proprietary operational standard that no competitor can replicate because it was built from the inside of your firm, not borrowed from someone else's.

What you need to know

before the first call

Do I have to change my technology stack?

No. The Architectural Audit evaluates what you have first. A change is only recommended if the current stack is a documented bottleneck to your three-year growth goals. The work starts with what you built.

Is this a coaching program?

Guided Implementation includes a group coaching track for the CEO and advisor and a separate group track for the operations team lead — both running concurrently alongside the operational build. For Executive Implementation and Platform Architecture, the engagement functions as a fractional COO partnership. The work is fully embedded, collaborative and custom — I lead the strategic direction and build the operational infrastructure alongside your team, bringing cross-firm pattern recognition and a decade of embedded experience that most firms only access through trial and error. Across every model, something tangible gets built. The coaching exists to support the build, not replace it.

How much of my time does this require?

The goal is to return time, not consume it. Your vision and alignment are required in Phase 1. The implementation phase is designed to be led through your operations layer with direct architectural oversight. You stay in the Architect's chair. The construction is managed.

What is the entry point?

Every engagement begins with The Architectural Audit. A projected investment range is discussed in Discovery based on the firm's size and complexity. The Audit is conducted as part of a minimum engagement commitment — it is not available as a standalone project. The scope and final investment are confirmed once the Audit is complete and the full picture of what the build requires is clear.

Have you done this at our scale?

Yes. The work spans firms from early independence through multi-billion dollar aggregators — 40+ integrations directed personally, 80+ acquisitions supported. The infrastructure logic scales. What changes between engagements is the complexity of what gets built, not the standard it is built to.

What does cultural integration actually look like inside an engagement?

Cultural continuity is one of the first conversations in every engagement that involves an acquisition. It covers how each firm is brought onto the platform — team onboarding timelines, client communication frameworks, role clarity across entities and the operational standards that define platform membership. The goal is not to erase what made each acquired firm valuable. It is to build the infrastructure that lets every firm operate at the same institutional standard while preserving what differentiates each practice.

The firms that move first

build advantages that compound.

Every week the infrastructure stays unbuilt is a week the calendar runs the business instead of the founder. The gap between where the firm is and what it is capable of has a very specific solution, and a very clear first step.
